With a solemn ceremony today, the European Championship A Division in #Goalball was officially opened in our Verde hall! This event is undoubtedly the most significant in the Paralympic sports history of Montenegro. 🥇
Until December 17, our hall will host the top ten men’s and women’s national teams in Europe.

The European Championship in Podgorica officially kicked off, and the championship was inaugurated by the Minister of Sports and Youth, Dragoslav Šćekić.
At the ceremonial ceremony, the participants were greeted by the presidents of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA), Ilgar Rahimov, and the European Paralympic Committee, Rejmond Blondel.
The welcoming address to the championship participants was delivered by the President of the Paralympic Committee of Montenegro, Igor Tomić.
The opening ceremony was enhanced by Komnen Vuković and the children’s choir D-mol, performing the Ode to Joy.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, the Secretariat for Sport of the Capital City, leaders of national sports federations, Paralympic committees of countries in the region, sponsors, and friends of the umbrella association of Montenegrin sports for people with disabilities attended the festive event.
From tomorrow, the spectacle begins, and the competitive part of the tournament will start with the duel between Lithuania and Germany (9:00). In the men’s part of the tournament, Belgium will also compete against Greece (10:15), Ukraine against Israel (15:15), and Turkey against Finland (16:30) for points.
In the women’s part of the tournament on the first day of competition, the rivals will be Germany against Turkey (11:30), Hungary against Finland (12:45), and Greece against France (14:00).
